Dr Bikash Majumder is currently working as a senior consultant Interventional Cardiologist in the Apollo Gleneagles Hospitals, Kolkata. He is an expert in coronary angioplasty (balloon surgery procedure). He has wide experience of  work in the field of Cardiology in India and abroad.

After completing his MD medicine in India with gold medal Dr Majumder went to the UK in 2002 and successfully completed his MRCP in 2004. He also completed his CCT (specialist training in Cardiology in UK) from Cardiff. He was awarded with the prestigious ‘European Association of Percutaneous Cardiovascular Interventions’ (EAPCI) fellowship grant in 2009. This grant enabled him to receive advanced Interventional Cardiology training from Zurich, Switzerland. For his research work in the field of inflammation and coronary artery disease Dr Majumder was also awarded with the MD (Research) degree by the University College London.

Dr Majumder has many publications in the international peer reviewed journals. He also presented his work in the international conferences namely ‘EUROPCR’,Paris in 2010 and 2012.

He is also keen in teaching the doctors. He is one of the directors of ‘Cardiology Masterclass’ a registered educational organisation in Kolkata for the training of the junior doctors and general practioners. He actively took part in teaching of the undergraduate students in the University College London and University of Wales, Cardiff.

Dr Majumder believes well informed patients are the best patients. Proper information always helps patients and their relatives to take the correct decision and makes the entire treatment process transparent and easy both for the doctors and patients. Dr Majumder played a vital role in formation of ‘West Bengal Heart Foundation’ and would like to share information to increase awareness among the common people and patients. This will help in prevention of heart disease and will help patients to take correct decisions based on available evidences and facts.
